The architectural design responds to the existing neighbourhood amenities by designing a mixed use development. The design is contemporary in style but still traditionally proportioned, featuring vertically arranged building masses and glazing patterns.
The development design maximises amenities and high quality semi public spaces. All dwellings have private outdoor living courts and these are further enhanced by common landscaping to the shared deck areas, with each dwelling enjoying direct access from living spaces to north and west orientated private decks. All maisonettes provide good sized living spaces and bedrooms with storage, good ceiling heights and ample glazing.
The buildings feature a high degree of visual interest through the facade organisation and depth of building materials. The layout in relation to vehicle access allows efficient use and effectively disguises the parking area from the street. Complementing the building’s character is the landscape. The detail of the shared deck access areas adds considerable character and will be visible from the adjacent site and street. The development will result in a different visual character for the area, because of the nature of the site and its contribution to a strong neighbourhood identity.
